Founded in 2022, Stichting Project Stimulus has been steadily growing alongside our partner institutions. Created from the knowledge that museums and cultural institutions increasingly aspire to play an essential role in the well-being of their public, Project Stimulus saw a gap in the way these two seemingly aligned institutions operate almost independently of one another. At Project Stimulus, we aim to fill this gap with research, intervention, and collaboration.
While the hospital space is mostly designed for efficiency and is generally indifferent to the spatial experience, the art exhibition experience holds the synergy of art and its spatial environment as a central focus. Our research here at Project Stimulus explores the dialogue between the two, in hopes to lay the foundation for future institutional collaboration and help improve overall well-being of the public who work within and move between these spaces.
Project Stimulus’ first intervention is taking place right now at the Emergency Department at OLVG Hospital in Amsterdam West.
